How to Find the Serial Number/Version for BRU Server

In BRU Server the fastest way to find the version and serial number is to open the BRU Server Config Tool and click on the License Info tab.

Get the BRU Server Console Version:

For all BRU Server Console versions, the BRU Server Console version is displayed in the top right corner of the Console with it's corresponding build number.

Get the Server Version:

The command below applies to all versions on all platforms for BRU Server.

$ sudo "/usr/local/bru-server/server" --version

The above command will show an output of the version information which should look something like the following:

$ sudo "/usr/local/bru-server/server" --version
Password:
BRU Server 2.0.2 (C) 2002-2010, TOLIS Group Inc.
Built 16:17:53 12/05/2009 on brumachine.tolisgroup.com
$

Note the first line that shows the name "BRU Server" and it's version number follows after (2.0.2).

Get the Server Serial Number:

The command below applies to all versions on all platforms for BRU Server.

$ sudo "/usr/local/bru-server/server" --license

The above command will show the license information including the serial number and the number of authorized clients licenses.  The output should look something like the following:

$ sudo "/usr/local/bru-server/server" --license
Reading license file

Licensed 25 clients for serial number 8270-0001
Current license settings:
Serial number: 8270-0001
clients : 25
$

Note the final two lines that display the serial number in eight-digit hyphenated format (XXXX-XXXX) and the number of authorized clients.
